Advocare 24 Day Challenge: Day 11

Yesterday, we took a free day, we both behaved but didn't start the MNS phase until today. We also weighed in and measured since it was the end of the 10 Day Cleanse.  Brittany was able to lose 6 lbs and a total of 4 inches and Kyle was able to lose 2 lbs and a total of 2.5 inches! Today Brittany started the Lean in 13 with the MNS E and Kyle is going to continue doing the 24 Day Challenge with MNS 3.

Day 11:
  • Immediately upon rising (On an empty stomach): Fruit Punch Spark, Catalyst, MNS Color Pack #1 (30 minutes before breakfast)
  • Breakfast (Meal 1): Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake, MNS White Packets (both) 
  • Exercise: 2 mile run, Red Raspberry Rehydrate
  • Mid Morning Snack (Meal 2): 1/4 cup almonds
  • 30 minutes before lunch: MNS Color Pack
  • Lunch (Meal 3): Salad with Balsmic Vinegar topped with Tuna Salad (Hard-boiled Egg, Tuna and Avocado) 
  • Mid Afternoon Snack (Meal 4): Muscle Gain
  • Dinner (Meal 5):Canadian Bacon Egg cup and Cabbage
  • Exercise: WOW (Work Out of the Week), AMRAP (As Many Round As Possible), I was able to do 6 rounds in 21:06,  thanks for the great workout Can't Stop Won't Stop
  • Evening Snack (Meal 6):Hard boiled egg

Salmon and Asparagus in Foil pack
  • 4 (6 oz) skinless salmon fillets
  • 1 lb asparagus, tough ends trimmed
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh dill sprigs
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut four sheets of aluminum foil about 14-inch long. Divide asparagus into 4 equal portions (about 8 spears per foil packet) and layer in center of each length of foil. In a small bowl stir together oil with garlic. Drizzle 1 tsp of the oil over portion of asparagus then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Rinse salmon and allow excess water to run off, then season bottom of each fillet with salt and pepper. Layer fillets over asparagus. Drizzle top of each salmon fillet with 1 tsp of the olive oil mixture and season top with salt and pepper to taste. Top each with about 2 sprigs dill.  Wrap sides of foil inward over salmon then fold in top and bottom of foil to enclose.
  • Place foil pouches in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven until salmon is cooked through, about 25 - 30 minutes. Unwrap and serve warm.

Honey Mustard Roasted Cabbage*

  • 1/2 head of cabbage
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cup organic bread crumbs
  • sea salt & pepper
Directions:

In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons olive oil with the honey and mustard. Whisk to combine. The remaining 1 tablespoon of oil can be used to coat your baking sheet. Slice the cabbage into thick wedges, Brush the wedges with the honey mustard glaze. Sprinkle the bread crumbs. Then season with salt and pepper. Roast at 400 degrees F for 35-40 minutes until the edges begin to turn dark brown and look crispy.

We have also tried this recipe on the grill, except place cabbage on aluminum foil.  Brush the aluminum foil with the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil.  Cook for about 30 minutes, keep checking for the edges to begin brown.

Advocare 24 Day Challenge: Day 7

Recipe:


I promise it tastes really good, the hummus just doesn't make it look so appealing!

Hummus Crusted Chicken
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 zucchini, chopped
  • 1 yellow squash, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup hummus, homemade or store bought
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare baking dish with cooking spray.
Pat the chicken dry. Season the chicken breasts with generous pinches of salt and pepper. In a large bowl, toss the zucchini, squash and onion and garlic with olive oil until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper.
Place all of the vegetables on the bottom of the dish in an even layer. Lay the four chicken breasts evenly on top, then cover each chicken breast with the hummus so that the entire breast is covered.
Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender. Serve immediately.

Apple Sweet Potato Chicken Bake



2-3 Boneless chicken breasts
3 Medium sweet potatoes- peeled and cut into 1in cubes

2 apples, cored and cut
1 cup of green beans

½ cup of onions
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 cup of chicken broth
2 Tbsp cinnamon 


Directions
Preheat oven to 425. In a baking dish or roasting pan combine chicken, sweet potatoes, green beans, apples, onions, garlic. Pour chicken broth over the chicken and veggies. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 40-45 minutes.
